President’s Update, Fall 2017

Aloha members,

Guess where this is? As we enter into our Fall season, this is a reminder to take a moment, a day, a weekend, or more… and just relax and enjoy…appreciate the simple things in life. Secondly, we’re hoping this picture will entice you to come to our next fundraiser. “Wine” down at the end of a busy week with our second wine tasting fundraising event on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Join the Hawaii Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for an evening of socializing and networking at Oeno Winemaking while helping to raise funds for our 2018 HAND Annual Spring Conference. Sample locally, hand made wines while enjoying live entertainment.
For a $30 fee, each participant will be provided with a flight of wine samples and light pupus. We will also be having raffle tickets for purchase to win a prized bottle of wine. This event is limited to 35 participants so sign up now while tickets last! It is open to both HAND and Non-HAND members. Participants must be at least 21 to participate in the wine tasting, although students are encouraged to come for conversation and connection. Nonalcoholic beverages will be provided as an alternative.

HAND has won the challenge with an average per member gift to the Second Century Campaign of $206. We will receive a $1,000 scholarship in our name in 2018. There will be an article on the Foundation website in regards to this challenge and the winners.  Congratulations and big Mahalo to all!  Learn more about the Second Century Initiative (you may be required to log in as a AND member).
