As we enter into the Fall season, as your President, I am most thankful for our Board members. They have been working diligently on a variety of initiatives. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Visit our website regularly! We have been working very hard to add new material and update the website with more newsy information, CPEUs, and related activities.
For example, check out this new report:
Hawai‘i’s Food System: Food for All
  • We are selling old Diet Manuals at a discounted rate. See our website for more information. Our new diet manual is being finalized and will be ready very soon! Stay informed as we will be announcing its publication via our website.
  • Did you know we just won a national Academy challenge? Our Affiliate won the Academy Foundation Affiliate Second Century Challenge this year.  The Academy Foundation challenged all Academy Affiliates this year to give a gift to the Second Century Campaign from either their budget or reserves while encouraging their members to give as well. HAND has won the challenge with an average per member gift to the Second Century Campaign of $206. We will receive a $1,000 scholarship in our name in 2018. There will be an article on the Foundation website in regards to this challenge and the winners.  Congratulations and big Mahalo to all!  Learn more about the Second Century Initiative (you may be required to log in as a AND member).
  • We are currently working on our next Spring Conference, set for May 4th, 2018. Save the Date!
